The Jesup, Georgia community is mourning the loss of Daniel Broadhead, who passed away on Monday, June 1, 2026, at the age of 31. A lifelong resident of Wayne County for most of his life, Daniel was known for his strong faith, dedication to education, remarkable athletic achievements, and unwavering commitment to family and friends. His passing has left a profound void in the lives of those who knew and loved him.
Born in Atlanta, Georgia, Daniel spent much of his life in Wayne County, where he developed a reputation as a hardworking, compassionate, and determined individual. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and remained devoted to his faith throughout his life. As a young man, he faithfully served a two-year church mission in Indiana, an experience that helped shape his character and strengthened his commitment to serving others. He also attended Seminary regularly during his youth, reflecting the importance of faith in his daily life.
Daniel excelled academically and graduated with honors from Wayne County High School in 2013. His dedication to learning and personal growth earned him recognition as an Honor Graduate. Beyond academics, he was deeply involved in extracurricular activities and achieved the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout, demonstrating leadership, perseverance, and a commitment to community service.
Athletics played a major role in Daniel’s life. He was a standout runner on the Wayne County High School Cross Country and Track teams, where his talent, discipline, and competitive spirit distinguished him among his peers. Recognized as an elite runner, he earned a scholarship to attend Augusta University, allowing him to continue pursuing both his educational and athletic goals.
Daniel’s passion for running remained a defining part of his life well beyond high school and college. Friends and family often admired his dedication to training and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. In addition to running, he enjoyed participating in CrossFit and embraced the challenges that came with physical fitness. His commitment to athletic excellence inspired many around him and reflected the determination that characterized every aspect of his life.
At the time of his passing, Daniel was continuing his education as a student at the University of Georgia, demonstrating his ongoing desire to learn, grow, and build a bright future. Those who knew him describe him as a person who continually pushed himself to achieve his goals while encouraging others to do the same.
Daniel was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joe and Betty Broadhead, and Patricia L. Rush. He leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory, including his father, Wayne (Kathy) Broadhead of Jesup; his mother, Dj (Jim) Adams of Flowery Branch; his sister, Shelley Sears of Cumming; his brothers, Dustin (Haylee) Broadhead of Kennesaw and Benjamin (Ashley) Broadhead of Hawaii; as well as several step-siblings, nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and countless friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 5, 2026, at Rinehart Chapel, with Elder Clint Mallard officiating and Megan O’Bara and Dean Wilson speaking. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. A memorial service will also be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Flowery Branch.
Daniel Broadhead will be remembered for his faith, determination, athletic accomplishments, and the positive influence he had on everyone who knew him. His legacy will continue to live on through the lives he touched and the memories he leaves behind.
